(virtual) Workshop – Conversations About Mental Health For High School Students

September 14 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Checking in with yourself, your peers, and your loved ones is important! Based on Francesca Reicherter’s books, “You Are Not Alone: The Workbook” and “I AM,” the “Conversations About Mental Health” Workshop is designed to help you develop the language to engage in mental health conversations and reach out for mental health support. As your presenter, Francesca will teach you how to listen to, validate, and support someone as they open up to you about their mental health. She will also walk you through the five different types of support available and how you can identify and reach out for the support you need.

This workshop is restricted to grades 9+. For all registrants under the age of 18, a parental consent form must be submitted before attending. Each registered attendee will receive a free downloadable worksheet packet to follow along with the presentation, complete practice exercises, and keep as a resource.

Teens today are faced with many challenges that threaten to compromise their mental health and well-being. The subject of mental health ought not to be taboo. In order to face a challenge, we must first learn to recognize a challenge and be able to to talk about it.

Fran Reicherter has experienced her own mental health challenges that left her feeling frustrated, alone, and hopeless. In this workshop, Fran, founder and director of Inspiring My Generation, will share her recovery story and facilitate conversations around mental health. Based on Francesca Reicherter’s books, “You Are Not Alone: The Workbook” and “I AM,” this workshop is designed to help you develop the language to engage in mental health conversations and reach out for mental health support. As your presenter, Francesca will teach you how to start and engage in conversations regarding mental health. Participants will learn to listen, validate, and support someone as they open up to you about their mental health. She will also walk you through the five different types of support available and how you can identify and reach out for the support you need.

Join us to break down barriers and stigma surrounded with topics related to mental health. Not everything we face in life can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.

Come learn with Fran as she discusses how to open up and have these important conversations.
